Nations Park - Lisbon


Nation´s Park - 13th February 2009
The site where the last exhibition of the 20th century , Expo98 took place , Nation´s Park or Parque das Nações is one of Lisbon´s newest if not the newest neighborhood in the city . The area is filled with office blocks , a site called FIL -Feira Internacional de Lisboa or International Fair Of Lisbon , hotels , Europe´s second biggest aquarium , a casino , places where one can get involved in all sorts of activities , especially those concerning sports and Lisbon´s second biggest shopping center - Vasco da Gama , named after the famous portuguese discoverer . In order to get to this part of town , you can catch the red line of the city´s tube system , a considerable number of buses , a train - if you´re staying at a hotel which is located outside the limits of the city - or you can even catch a cab . The train station itself is also filled with shops such as The Phone House , coffee shops and restaurants and a new book fair, which is taking place right in front of one the shopping center´s main entrances until the end of the month . In there one can find pretty affordable bargains for prices range from 2 up to 100 euros . Overall , Lisbon´s newest neighborhood is a place where you can spend a couple of hours during your discovery of the city or even the whole day .
